I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling a little bit housebound at the moment. I guess lockdown can do that to you. And what I’ve noticed for myself is that this is having an impact on my thinking and approach.
I’m feeling enclosed…and so is my thinking.
I’m looking at pretty much the same things each day, so my perspective isn’t moving and shifting.
I’m in a familiar routine, so not creating change.
It’s a bit like being in solitary confinement …same, same, same. The only thing you can change is yourself.
So if you are feeling a little bit like me and realise you need to shake things up a bit, here are a few questions to challenge your thinking, to change your perspective and get you in motion.
‘If you would lift me up you must be on higher ground.’
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
To make the most of these questions and the potential to create your own opportunities and future, allow yourself the time to reflect on them…go outside if you can, minimise interruptions and distractions. Simply reflect. You don’t need an immediate response…although you may have one.
Enjoy the questions and discover the answers for yourself.
What important things are you doing today in exchange for a day of your life?
TO CREATE ACTION
If you change nothing now, what will be different in 6 months’ time?
TO DEVELOP SELF
In order to achieve this very important goal, who do you need to be?
TO VISUALISE YOUR FUTURE
Take yourself forward in time, say 12 months from now, what do you want to look back on?
When you reflect on the past 12 months, what are you most proud of?
In times of challenge, when others are looking to you for leadership, it’s even more important to first lead yourself.
I’d love to know your thoughts.
